Survey Flowering and Creating Diversity in Urban green space
The First International Conferense of IALE-Iran
ABSTRACT:
Urban green space is a fundamental and attractive element of cities all around the world all through the year. Selecting species resistant to dryness is an essential decision for planting them in the urban green space in arid and semi-arid regions. One of the most important experiments to introduce new plants in new regions is phenology of different species. In this study the Flowering characteristics of 5 major species of Urban green space has been identified, using descriptive method. The main objective of this study was to identify the flowering characteristics of five important tree and shrub species in the urban green space, using descriptive method during 1389 to 1382 period. The studied species are Quercus infectoria, Albizia julibrissin, Ulmus carpinifolia, Lagerstroemia indica and Salix alba. To evaluate changes in flowering over time annual temperature and absolute minimum temperature dataof Isfahan synoptic meteorology station were used. The result of this study has led to formation of
tables which helps us for following applications: Species selection for park establishing and arranging.
Determining species with long time peak flowering and presence of flower. Identifying peak flowering
simultaneity in different trees and shrub species. Finally, identify trees and shrubs which have the
least and most variation during the year.
