Phyllotaxy usage as an identification of woody plants

Abstract: 
Phyllotaxy explains how leaves or buds are arranged on the twig. Phyllotaxy is a plant  feature which  is very  important  in woody plants  identification.  It  follows golden  ratio. Golden  ratio on  the phyllotaxy of woody plants can be  explained with  the  use  of  golden  series.  In  general  comprehensive  phyllotaxy  characteristics  which  is  showed  by  woody  plants  are  decussate, whorled. There are other characteristics which are rare namely. In  this study  the way  in which phyllotaxy  follows  the golden  ratio was  illustrated and the method to define it is explicated. Finally phyllotaxies of fifty trees and shrubs species in Iran were set down in full details and arranged in the before mentioned groups.
